My Inay's Adobo: The Best!

I don't know about you, but for me, the best meals are those cooked and eaten at home.  And this adobo is just one of the many dishes of my mom, that always makes me feel happy. The recipe is simple: just cuts of chicken and potatoes in soy sauce and vinegar, cooked till almost dried.  And we can finish this whole pot with lots and lots of rice and lots of shared stories and laughter.  I cook adobo, but everybody at home thinks Inay's adobo is still the best.  And it is one dish that is always served lovingly at home :)

ABC Wednesday: K is for Kalesa!

In the Philippines, we call this the Kalesa, and the driver is called the Kutsero.  This mode of transportation is a throwback to the colonial times in my country.  They are now only seen mostly at tourist spots, like the Calle Crisologo in the heritage site of Vigan in Ilocos Norte. A great way to travel and see the sites!

What Made Ishi Smile?

What put that gorgeous smile on my daughter's face? It was this special date that we had at a new mall, and the special added treat of the ice cream concoction of her choice!

And she had this huge banana split (mommy just had a few spoonfuls) for herself! It was such a simple treat, yet very much appreciated by my daughter and it so warmed my heart!
My kids are so easy to please, thank you God!

A Smile Worth A Thousand Naps!

On a rainy Sunday afternoon, my daughter and I went to check out the new Robinsons Magnolia mall and create happy memories.  With that smile of happiness, I am willing to forego a thousand naps and more!
