30 Day Blog Challenge-Day 24:The Things You Want to Say to 5 Different People

The Things You Want to Say to 5 Different People

To My Husband-I love you and thank you for loving me just as I am. We have been together for almost 16 years now and those years, while not always perfect, have always been worth it. Buti na lang, kahit masungit ako at inaaway kita ay mahal mo pa rin ako. At kahit na sa Facebook mo pa talaga sinabi yan, ha ha ha.

To My Inay-Thank you for being the most loving mom a daughter can ever ask for.  Thank you for always helping our family.  I am sorry if I am sometimes masungit, please know that I love you very much.

To My Kids-You make living in this world worthwhile.  I will try and give you everything that I can so that you will have a better future.  I love you so much and I am thankful that you love me as you do.  You are such sweet kids and are sincerely the hugest blessings in my life.

To my sisters Diana and Kris-Thank you for being the best sisters ever. I am so proud of both of you.  Thank you for being so responsible and for being always there for me and my family.

To my bff's Ehms and Rona-They say you become like the people you spend time so it means I am going to be crazy, fun and fabulous.  Di bale na konti lang friends ko.  What they lack in quantity, they make up for in quality! Love you guys and here is to more adventures with you! (di bale ng walang pera, basta maraming pictures sa camera!) And when

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 23-Something You Always Think 'What If' About

Something You Always Think 'What If' About
my famly

My only 'What If' in life has always been, "What if I didn't get pregnant right after college and didn't have to marry young? That was a question that I asked myself a lot of times during the early days of my marriage.  I had a job even before graduation but my husband only finished his vocational studies.  He was able to get a job, but between the house rent, the yaya, and the living expenses, we barely made it to the next payday.  That was how we lived early on.  But now, the kids are in school and we have better jobs.  We are able to travel and buy some of what we need.  We have a house, a car and we are healthy.  Now, when I look back, I know that I wouldnt have it any other way.  While my kids are grown up and I am able to enjoy them and myself, my friends are just  starting with their families.  And some of my friends are still single and cant find decent men!  So I guess, my 'What If" isn't so much of a bother now.

30 Day Blog Challenge:Day 22-10 Things About You People Don’t Really Expect

10 Things About You People Don’t Really Expect

  1. That I am a morning person.  I can finish a lot of things in the morning, but would be useles when it turned dark.  When night comes, I am tamad to the bone!
  2. I love reading sappy love stories. There. And I cry while reading them too.
  3. That I don't know how to dance. Yes, I look like I could but I really couldn't dance to save my life.
  4. That I love water but cant swim. But its in my bucket list for this year.
  5. I can live without a television, as long as I have my books.
  6. I love doing the laundry, but I hate the folding and ironing.
  7. I switch to Batangueno when I am home in Batangas. Its like riding a bike, you never forget how to do it even if I have been living in Manila for more than half of my life already.
  8. That I am fiercely loyal to my friends. I will help them hide a body if needed. Ha ha ha. Not that my friends would do such a thing!
  9. I can say no and mean it.
  10. I can say whats on my mind and not be afraid what others would think.

K is for Kilometer!

K is for Kilometer! Last Sunday, my friends and I joined the historic run for the benefit of Overseas Filipino Workers and their families.  We entered in the 5K category and finished with quiet a respectable personal best.
We had fun despite the heat.  It was a fun run after all. We vowed to make 10k on our next run !

30 Day Blog Challenge-Day 21:Something You Can’t Seem To Get Over

Something You Can’t Seem To Get Over

I just can't get over the fact that some people can be so mean and nasty. I can't get over the fact that some people are so quick to judge you and think so bad of you without knowing what's happening with you.  I can't get over the fact that some of these people are my neighbors. You know who you are.  If you dont like me, only one of us has a problem. He he.

30 Day Blog Challenge-Day 20:The Last Argument You Had

The Last Argument You Had

The last one I can remember is with my husband, over him saying something which sounded sarcastic and when I called his attention to it, he said he wasn't being sarcastic and when I said that he was and he kept on denying it, we ended up arguing. Yes, we are silly like that, and yes, he can be irritating at times.
my irritating husband, he he he

Proud Parents!

Friday was the Recognition Day at our kid's school and we were once again proud parents to these Achievers! My son Danniel was Top 2 in Grade 4 while Ishi was Top 6 in Grade 2.  My eldest son Drexelle(not in the picture) always says that he was an Achiever during his elementary days too lest I forget, he he.
Their medals.  The blue one came from a local political candidate running for office in May.

30 Day Blog Challenge:Day 19-Something That Never Fails to Make You Feel Better.

3. My mom's cooking. They are so good that I think she is out to sabotage my diet!
4. My books. My feel good Harry Potter books. And now anything on my Kindle.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 18-Disrespecting Paremts

Disrespecting Parents
my blonde inay

My father died when I was in high school but I never have any recollection of me disrespecting him intentionally.  He would just raise his brows at me and I would instantly know my place. I love him and I miss him and I know that he would have been a very good lolo to my kids.  My mom is a different matter.  We had a falling off after my dad died and she had her new family. I may have been a bad daughter then and respect was the last thing on my mind. But we made up when I was in college and I have never disrespected her since. I love her for all her help and sacrifices for my family and when we fight, as we sometimes do, it is never out of disrespect and just a misunderstanding.  I love my mom fiercely!

Its true that once you become a parent you would look back at everything you did to your parents and wish that your kids will never do the same thing to you.  I am thankful that at their young age, my kids are respectful and kind and loving. I wish that they stay the same as they grow older. I hope my husband and I are showing them how.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 17-Things That Make You Scared

Things that Make You Scared

1. My mom's health. While she is not that old, she is hypertensive and has vertigo.  But she still sells BBQ daily to help my family. I worry that something bad will happen to her when she goes to the market everyday very early morning. But in a few months, di ko na sya pagtitindahin. But she said she will get more sickly pag wala siyang ginagawa. Ang hirap makipagtalo sa matanda!
2. My husband's health. He is hypertensive. And he doesnt exercise anymore due to his work schedule. E ang taba na tuloy ulit!
3. That I am not good enough for my job. Scary. And it makes me so insecure sometimes.
4. That something will bad will happen to me and my kids will have a hard life. Wag naman sana
5. Flying cockroach. Or giant spiders. Or insects crawling into my ears. He he he.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 16-3 Things You Are Proud of About Your Personality

3 Things You Are Proud of About Your Personality

  1. I am strong and determined. My friends know what I have been through growing up, and I survived. I am thankful that my kids will never have the same difficulties in their life because we work very hard for them.
  2. I take my responsibilities and my relationships seriously.  I love my family, my husband, my friends and my work.
  3. I am happy.  It may not always show on my face but I am happy with my life.  I want more, but I am working for it and I am thankful for what I have.  Some people may think that I do not have enough, but what I have is more than what other people will ever have: a happy and healthy family, a loving husband, a great mom, two very supportive sisters, the best bestfriends in the world, a great circle of friends, i am able to travel, and I can buy some things that I want.  I am happy because I am grateful. And because I am grateful, I am happy.

I think that's about it.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 13-A Date You Would Love to Go On

A Date You Would Love To Go On.

Boracay, October 2012
My dream date would be a 2-night stay at a posh and secluded resort with my husband (who else?!) where all we would do is eat, swim and lounge around all day, with not a care in the world! That would be heaven.  It would be a plus if the kids and our best friends and their families are with us.  But it must be free because if we were to pay for it, I would probably think of all the ways why we should have done it on a budget, ha ha ha.

Anyway, here are just some of the "dates" that we have over the past years.  They are not my dream date, but they are so close, except for the "free" and "budget" part. Ha ha ha!

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 12-Things You Want to Say To An Ex

Things You Want to Say To An Ex

I have only two serious relationships: the one with my husband and the one before him.  They are the only guys that I could imagine myself growing old with. And I am lucky to be with my husband.  And to my ex, I only have nice words to say to him.  He is a responsible and kind guy, and our relationship ended amicably.  We are still friends (in Facebook) and I am godparent to his first child.  So, all I can say is thank you for everything, and I hope he is as happy as I am.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 11-Your Current Relationship

Your Current Relationship

I have married to my husband for 15 years and 3 months already. And while not every moment of it has been perfect, it has always been worth it.
We have been blessed with 3 wonderful kids and I cannot ask for more! (Well, I can but I know that we have been a lot luckier than most in our relationship).  We were able to survive some really rough patches in our relationship and I know that we can survive more.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 10-Your views on Drugs and Alcohol

Your Views on Drugs and Alcohol

Drugs, no. Seriously no.  Alcohol, yes for social drinking only. And no drinking and driving. And yes, I can go beyond my limit if and only if we are drinking at home or at my bestfriend's home and if we are staying over.
we had to try the Angkor Beer while in Cambodia. And that's 2 bottles for 5 of us.

Friday Letters

Dear Salary, Why not enough? Ha ha ha. Maybe I am spending too much on non-essentials.  But isn't traveling essential? Dear Beautiful Creatures Series, Why are you so good? I need time to study, not to read. Dear Work, why are you not as exciting as I want you to be? I am bored.  Dear School, I don't want to be back, but if I want to go further in my career, then I need you.  Please be good to me.  Dear Dean of the School, Please find it in your heart to take me back. Please, please, please. Dear Amazon, why are you so tempting? Ha ha ha.  Dear Diet, Why are you being so difficult?!

Signs: No Laughing

When I first saw this sign at Toul Sleng Genocide Museum, I was curious as to why they have to put up that sign. And then when I entered the rooms where the killings and the murders took place, I know that there was no need for that sign.  We couldn't even smile as we talk among ourselves. Our hearts were heavy and I doubt if I can let out a laugh even if you force me!
The Toul Sleng Genocide Museum was a security prison during the brutal reign of the Khmer Rouge.  While it is not a happy place to visit, it is really a place where tourists must visit so that they will understand how the people of Cambodia have suffered, and then they will learn to respect the value of life and freedom more.

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 9-Your Last Kiss

Your Last Kiss

This morning, I had each a goodbye kiss from my kids.  My husband was still at work so I kissed him the night before.  No kiss is as sweet as the ones from your kids, I tell you.

30-Day Blog Challenge: Day 8-Something Yo're Currently Worrying About

Something You’re Currently Worrying About.
no worries?!?

At this moment, I am worried about our monthly bills especially those that are falling due this month.  I also worry about the health of my husband, my mom and my kids.  I also worry about my sister, and her career after graduation.  I worry about my eldest son and his happy-go-lucky attitude. I worry about my work and my new role, and if this is really the best fit for me.  I worry a lot.  But most of all, I worry that I am not being a good mom, a good friend, a good wife, a good daughter, a good sister or a good friend. Yeah, I am a worrier!

30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 7-You Opinion on Cheating On People

Your Opinion On Cheating People

I subscribe to the Golden Rule: Do Not Do Unto Others What You Do Not Want Others To Do Unto You. I also believe in Karma, 'what you give is what you get returned.'  I also believe that 'you should forgive, but you should never forget.'  And I also think that those who cheat with you, will cheat on you.  So, I have very low opinion of people who cheats.  I think there is a special place for them in hell, right beside baby killers.
